Men Are Leading In COVID-19 Cases As Nairobi Registers 86 In 24 Hours

Kenya has today registered 133 COVID-19 positive cases in 3,255 samples tested in the last 24 hours bringing the total number of cases in the country to 3,860 cases according to Health CS Mutahi Kagwe.

Kenya has so far tested 121,956 samples for COVID-19 since reporting the first case on 13th March 2020 with the Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe noting that more men are reporting infections to at some point even tripling the numbers compared to those of females.

Today’s COVID-19 stats have seen a total of 88 males and 45 females with Health CS Kagwe noting that if the increased number of COVID-19 cases amongst men is controlled, then Kenya would be reporting lesser numbers.

All the COVID-19 positive cases are Kenyan with the youngest being 13 years and the eldest 90-years according to Health CS Mutahi Kagwe.

The 133 COVID-19 cases are spread across Kenya as follows:

Nairobi – 86

Mombasa -27

Kiambu -7

Busia -5

Kilifi -2

Kajiado -2

Murang’a -1

Machakos – 1

The Nairobi COVID-19 cases are spread across the constituencies with Westlands topping the number of cases at 13 cases, Embakasi South-10, Makadara-9, Lang’ata -8, Embakasi East and Roysambu – 5 (each), Starehe -4, Ruaraka, Embakasi Central, Dagoretti North- 3 cases each.
