MIE Groups Launches Africa’s First Virtual Exhibition Platform

MIE Groups, alongside its Kenya subsidiary, Global Exhibitions Inc, has unveiled its FIRST B2B Virtual Exhibition platform, Global Trade Week Virtual Exhibition (GTW VE).
GTW VE will allow adversely affected businesses across the African region to easily access the global market and reach out to a vast network of buyers and suppliers in order to move their businesses forward.
The current pandemic has thrown the global and exhibition industry into turmoil with trade show cancellations and postponements estimated to have had a 16.2 BN Dollar impact on the global economy to date.
GTW VE is an innovation by MIE Group designed to reconnect businesses all over the world by creating a virtual business environment that will halt the downturn in the market by allowing businesses to continue, especially for Small and Medium Enterprises.
David Wang, Chairman’s MIE Group said: “We understand the necessity of developing a platform to benefit suppliers, producers, and buyers. Our teams across China, UAE, and Africa have done an exceptional job in just two months developing a new and innovative solution for businesses adversely affected by this crisis. We are proud to be leading from the front in providing solutions that will help our clients thrive at all times.”
GTW VE will allow trade buyers to connect with global manufacturers and suppliers and view the most recent innovative products in an exclusive virtual B2B environment with private deal rooms equipped with advanced video conferencing capabilities.
Beyond business, the platform will also drive thought leadership through its dedicated virtual conferences, live keynote presentations, moderated panel discussions, and exclusive webinars.
Zahoor Ahmed, VP Strategy and Partnerships commented: “Without a doubt, we are in the wake of a new normal that we all will have to not only adapt to but thrive in as well. Thankfully, innovation is written in the MIE Group DNA. We are heavily invested in Event Management Technology and for us, COVID-19 was the impetus we needed to speed up the development of something we’ve always had in the innovation pipeline.”
Edwin Masivo, Global Exhibitions Inc’s Country Director added that “This solution we have developed comes at an extremely opportune time for SMEs all over Africa which has been hit particularly hard by this pandemic. GTW VE will provide a suitable trading ground for SMEs to resume business with no risk to themselves, their clients, or their staff. As Gex, we will spearhead the adoption of this platform by businesses across East Africa.”
In the coming weeks, MIE Groups will debut a number of high profile virtual events in partnership with the Government of China. These include China-Africa Digital Trade Week, Zhejiang Haiyan Export Trade Fair, Hunan Middle East & African International Commodity Digital Expo, Africa Food Show, and many more sector-specific virtual shows that will catalyze resumption of trade between the two continents.
MIE Groups has also collaborated with leading Global Logistics giant DB Schenker who will offer comprehensive assistance in the shipment of goods. GTW VE will consolidate MIE Groups leading position in facilitating global trade and strengthen its growing portfolio in Africa, China, and the UAE.
