Petrol Up By 5.77 Shillings, Diesel Down By 3.80 Shillings

Energy Regulatory and Petroleum Authority (EPRA) has announced the new fuel prices increasing the price of Super Petrol by 5.77 shillings and reducing that of Diesel and Kerosene by 3.80 and 17.31 shillings per liter respectively.

According to EPRA, changes in this month’s prices are as a result of the average landed cost of imported super petrol increasing by 31.54 percent to 26,434 shillings per cubic centimeter in May 2020, diesel decreasing by 5.58 percent and kerosene decreasing by 51.84 percent.

In Nairobi, motorists will pay 89.10 shillings for a liter of Super Petrol, 74.57 shillings for a liter of Diesel, and 62.46 shillings for a liter of Kerosene. Those in Mombasa will pay 86.82 shillings for a liter of Super Petrol, 72.09 shillings for Diesel, and 59.99 shillings for Kerosene.

Those in Marsabit will part with 96.95 shillings for a liter of Super Petrol, 82.43 shillings for a liter of Diesel, and 66.63 shillings for a liter of Kerosene.

Residents of Nakuru will pay 88.96 shillings for a liter of Super Petrol, 74.62 shillings for a liter of Diesel, and 62.54 shillings for a liter of Kerosene.

Those in Eldoret will pay 89.94 shillings for a liter of Super Petrol, 75.89 shillings for a liter of Diesel, and 63.51 shillings for a liter of Kerosene.

Kisumu residents will pay 89.94 shillings for every liter of Super Petrol, 75.58 shillings for a liter of Diesel, and 63.51 shillings for a liter of Kerosene.

Kenyans have been enjoying low prices of fuel for more than three months when global prices dropped the most in history.

The Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) has attributed the changes in costs to price changes on imports across May.
