The continuous exposure to triclosan as an ingredient in the production of hand sanitizer increases the likelihood of developing resistance to antibiotics. The most effective and economically viable way to fight the coronavirus is the use of soap and running warm water. The hand sanitizer should only be used as last resort and not overdone to minimize its side effects on users.
