Simon Peter Odongo is a Ugandan Internal Security Organization (ISO) IT contractor who according to his release statement resisted arrest by the Chief Of Military Intelligence (CMI) which resulted in a scuffle that left Odongo injured.

According to Simon Opiyo, a crusading Ugandan Human Rights Attorney, Odongo was shot in the leg before his wife and kid, his wife was forced to clean the bloodied floor and tie the bleeding gunshot wound.

Odongo’s wife, Caroline Odongo’s filed release statement states that Odongo’s medical reports prove that he had a gunshot wound on the lower left limb. Another examination found that Odongo had forced catheterization (is the insertion of a tube through the genitalia to the bladder- according to Wikipedia)

The release statement goes ahead to clarify that due to this insertion of a tube through his penis, the doctors observe that he was discharging blood and pus in his urine. He also had suffered post-traumatic disorder, looking sick, anxious, and suicidal.

Odongo’s wife confesses that although her husband had subdued, he was still shot during the arrest, Odongo was also diabetic, he was obese and hypertensive.

None of the affidavits in reply deny the allegations of torture or shooting made by Caroline Odongo, the wife to the victim, therefore on Friday 26, June.  The court ordered Odongo’s immediate release.

According to Simon Opiyo, the court order for his lawyers to access him was disregarded. He is being gelid incommunicado, which means the court order was not respected.
