COVID-19 Updates: 389 Positive Raising Total To 7,577 Cases

Kenya has today recorded the highest ever number of new of COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours according to the Ministry of Health at 389 cases.

The 389 new COVID-19 cases are out of 4,829 samples tested in the last 24 hours bringing the total number o  samples tested in the country to 185,035.

The 389 new COVID-19 cases are inclusive of 266 males and 123 females with all the cases ranging between 1-year-old and 93-years-old.

According to the Ministry of Health, three of the 389 COVID-19 cases announced today, 4th July 2020, are foreigners while 386 are Kenyans.

The 389 new COVID-19 cases are distributed in counties as follows:

Nairobi – 248

Kajiado – 36

Kiambu – 27

Mombasa – 23

Busia – 17

Machakos – 10

Migori-9

Kitui-6

Makueni – 3

Uasin Gishu – 3

Nakuru-2

Kilifi-2

Garissa – 1

Murang’a – 1

Narok – 1

The number of fully recovered patients has increased by 88 after they tested COVID-19 negative in the last 24 hours bringing the total to 2,236.

Sadly the number of fatalities has also increased after five more people have died of COVID-19 bringing the total to 159.

The 248 COVID-19 cases reported in Nairobi are spread in Dagoretti North-55, Kibra-40, Lang’ata-33, Ruaraka – 17,Westlands – 14, Embakasi East-13, Makadara – 13, Roysambu – 11,Embakasi South and Kasarani – 8 each, Mathare, Starehe, Embakasi Central and Embakasi West – 7 each, Embakasi North and Kamukunji – 3.

The 36 COVID-19 Kajiado cases are 32 from Kajiado Central, East and North – 2 cases each.

The 27 Kiambu COVID-19 cases from Kiambaa, Ruiru and Kikuyu-6 cases each, Kabete, Kiambu town – 4 cases each, and one case from Thika Town.
