Respect is a paramount factor within the employee-employer cycle, regardless of the age of the employee, they should be respected in regard to their efforts. Respecting employees may seem obvious but not all bosses find it important.

Employees tend to notice when they realize that they do not get the respect they deserve from their bosses, these kinds of feelings have repercussions to both the employee, the employer, and the business as a whole.

An employee that feels disrespected at any point in any manner especially by the boss may tend to loose working morale, disrespect is another form of “your services are not important to this company.”

Employees who feel respected by their leaders are more likely to stick with their company than those who didn’t, they tend to develop a feeling of dedication and worthiness, and they will dedicate to delivering even better.

Some bosses fail to respect their employees with claims of being too busy to be nice, however, we can term this as lack of self-awareness, more often people just do not realize how they affect others.

Respecting your employees doesn’t mean you are a boss that stoops so low, it means you realize the importance of everyone and respect is a piece of motivation to encourage continuity of the good work.

As a leader respecting your employees is another means of saying thank you and keep it up. A leader who thanks his employees and takes every opportunity to connect with them guarantees a positive impact on the employees, and in turn, on the company’s performance

Leaders need to promote a culture of respect and be at the top by becoming a role model to their employees and spotting out those failing to act with respect, this creates a better working environment and smooth running of the business.

No other leadership behavior has a bigger effect on employees like the realization of disrespectfulness, being treated with respect is more important to employees than recognition followed by appreciation and communication.

Respecting your employees means you have created room for interaction, it means you have given your employees a go-ahead to forward in any form of feedback even opportunities for learning, growth, and development
