Kenyans Should Brace For Heavy Rainfall This Week- Met

The meteorological department has reported that most parts of the country will receive heavy rainfall of above 70 mm.

According to Kenya Met, the seven-day forecast released on Monday, Baringo, Elgeyo-Marakwet, West Pokot, Uasin Gishu, Laikipia, and Kwale counties will receive heavy rainfall during the period.

Moderate rainfall between 50-70 mm is expected to spread in some parts of Bungoma, Nyandarua, Laikipia, Nakuru, Trans Nzoia, Turkana, Mombasa and Kilifi Counties.

Counties that will receive light rainfall 10-50 mm according to Kenya met are some parts of Busia, Kakamega, Nandi, Kisumu, Kericho, Nyamira, Murang’a, Kiambu, Nyeri, Samburu, Turkana, Meru and along with Coastal Counties

Other counties mentioned as likely to remain relatively dry are Nairobi, Machakos, Kitui, upper Tana River, Kajiado, Narok, Migori, Makueni, Embu, Garissa, Wajir, Isiolo, Taita Taveta, Mandera and Marsabit.

Kenya Met said that heavy rainfall above 70 mm is expected over some parts of Laikipia, Nyandarua, Baringo, Marakwet, Uasin Gishu, Samburu, and West Pokot Counties.

Last week, the meteorological department warned of heavy rainfall expected over parts of Kenya with Nairobi receiving relatively dry weather in its latest forecast.
