Safaricom Top Mover For Four Days Running At The NSE

Telecommunications giant Safaricom has remained as the top mover at the Nairobi Securities Exchange since the week kicked off. On Thursday, the company moved 7.20 million shares at a market capitalization of 1.10 trillion shillings.

ABSA Bank Kenya was the second top mover on Thursday with 2.64 million shares with a market capitalization of 48.88 billion shillings.

KCB Group and Equity Group sold 2.48 and 2.08 million shares respectively at the market capitalization of 110.22 and 120.19 billion shillings respectively.

Kenya Power and Lighting Company sold 497,700 shares at a market capitalization of 3.75 billion shillings.

The top loser of the day on Thursday was Longhorn Publishers with 6.33 percent at the price of 4.59 shillings per share followed by Standard Group with a loss of 4.17 percent at the price of 23.00 shillings per share.

Sameer Africa and I & M Holdings lost 3.91 and 3.90 percent respectively at the price of 3.70 and 48.00 shillings per share respectively.

East Africa Cables lost 3.49 percent at the price of 2.21 shillings per share.

BK Group was the top gainer of the day at the NSE on Thursday with 7.78 percent at the price of 18.00 shillings per share followed by Nairobi Business Ventures with 3.45 percent at the price of 0.60 shillings per share.

Eveready East Africa and Uchumi Supermarket gained 2.97 and 2.86 percent respectively at the price of 1.04 and 0.36 shillings per share respectively.

Flame Tree Group gained 2.76 percent at the price of 1.49 shillings per share.
