Successful Launch of China-Africa & Middle East Digital Trade Week

“China (Guangxi)-Africa & Middle East Digital Trade Week” has officially kicked off on 29th June 2020, under the theme “Made in Guangxi – Make life better”, organized by the CCPIT Guangxi committee, CCOIC Guangxi, 14 CCPIT Guangxi City Branches and co-organized by the MIE Group.
Armed with the purpose of utilizing the China Africa Trade Week digital platform and cross-border e-commerce to display and promote high-quality, distinctive and outstanding advantages of Guangxi to foreign countries, aiming at consolidating the friendly relationships between China, Middle East & Africa, accelerating overseas business and promoting the cooperation between both sides in various fields.
The kick-off meeting was well attended by Global Viewers from China, Africa, GCC key source markets. Other Senior Dignitaries including Chinese Ambassadors and Counsellors from the Chinese Embassy in Senegal, Kenya, Ghana, Zimbabwe, and Rwanda were present at the opening ceremony. With more than 130,000 people present including, representatives from Government Bodies and Business Associations such as
Dubai City Hall in the UAE, Kenya Investment, Ghana Tourism Authority, Eastern African Chamber of Commerce, Kenya Chamber of Commerce and Industry, National Chamber of Commerce of Ghana, National Business Federation of Morocco attended the online kickoff ceremony.
Li Xuxiang, Vice President of CCPIT Guangxi said “COVID 19 is spreading all over the world. China, the Middle East, and Africa are all facing the grueling task of fighting the epidemic, stabilizing the economy, and protecting people’s livelihood. Under these circumstances, supporting the “China (Guangxi) – Africa & Middle East Digital Trade Week” is a specific action of Guangxi’s in-depth participation and active integration of the “Belt and Road Initiative” building.” He further added “The spirit of innovative measures is an important starting point to help Guangxi foreign trade companies’ response to the epidemic and promote the export of “Guangxi Products”. At the same time, looking forward to more high-quality Middle Eastern and African products entering the Chinese market through cross-border e-commerce, achieving mutual benefit and win-win.”
China (Guangxi)-Africa & Middle East Digital Trade Week will last for 7 days starting from June 29th. With more than 520 commodities from 102 Guangxi export enterprises exhibited during the event, the exhibition will bring together many famous enterprises for B2B matchmaking from industries such as Medicine and Medical Equipment, Construction Materials, Construction Machinery, Hardware, and Electrical Machinery, Food and Agriculture, Plastics Printing and Packaging, Home Appliances, and Electronic products.
During the event, a total of 7 Online promotion meetings will be held on a daily basis, around medical and health care, hardware and building materials, food and agriculture, light industry and daily necessities, electronic technology, engineering machinery, and power photovoltaic equipment, automotive parts, etc.
