Uhuru Convenes An Urgent Summit To Discuss Covid-19 Surge

BY Juma · July 20, 2020 02:07 pm

President Uhuru Kenyatta has called for the Fifth Extraordinary Session of the National and County Governments Coordinating Summit to be held on Friday, 24th July 2020.

The Session has been convened following a surge of #COVID19 infections across the country with a section of leaders calling on the President to impose another lockdown.

The President listed the cessation of movement that had been imposed on the counties of Nairobi, Mombasa, and Mandera on July 6, 2020, allowing Kenyans to travel freely across the country.

Since the lifting of the ban, Covid-19 cases have spiked to worrying levels with the Ministry of Health saying that all ICU beds are now full.
