Who doesn’t know Mwanaisha Chidzuga? This is a Kenyan household name that has always grazed our screens as Swahili vibes fly out of her mouth during the Swahili primetime news.

Aside from her 17 years of prowess on screen, her dedication to women empowerment and philanthropic work towards realizing SDG 5 on gender equality has set her aside as a women rights champion who uses her Swahili culture and background to celebrate and empower girls, women and different communities from all walks of life.

Born and raised in one of Kenya’s s most marginalized coastal communities, Mwanaisha did not limit herself to the prevailing economic challenges.

She made a choice to rise above all the odds and become a pillar of strength in her community. She used her mastery of the Swahili language to kick start a trendsetting career in Journalism, growing her talents in production, television, and radio.

Her dream to see women prosper has seen her set up the Dada2Dada initiative. The initiative by Mwanaisha Chidzuga is aimed at transforming and empowering both youth and women.

Mwanaisha understands that empowering women and the youth is the most sure-fire way to raise universal standards of living, and bring nations out of poverty. That is why Dada2Dada ‘ s main objectives are centered around achieving SDG goals 4 and 5, as youth and women are the most vulnerable during this pandemic.

TheDada2Dada forum provides a platform where interested parties can meet via digital means and share their ideas, experiences, advice, and get to showcase their products and services.

“Women & The Youth represents are they key change-makers in realizing universal progress but a majority of them in Kenya face numerous challenges, that hinder them from realizing their full potential,” says Mwanaisha.
