Top 5 Gainers, Losers And Movers At The NSE On Jan 13

On Wednesday, the markets closed with Sanlam Kenya emerging as the top gainer of the day with 8.33 percent at a price of 13.00 shillings per share.

The second top gainer of the day was BK Group with 7.89 percent at the price of 20.50 shillings per share followed by HK Group with a gain of 4.12 percent at the price of 3.54 shillings per share.

Nation Media Group and Flame Tree Group gained 3.96 and 3.79 percent at the price of 15.75 and 1.37 shillings per share respectively. The top 5 gainers table seems to have been dominated by new entrants on Wednesday and tables are likely to turn on Thursday.

The top losers of the day were BOC Kenya, Sasini, Home Afrika, Nairobi Business Ventures, and Sameer Africa who staggered throughout the sessions.

BOC Kenya was the top loser shedding off 8.76 percent at the price of 57.25 shillings per share followed by Sasini with a loss of 5.05 percent at the price of 18.80 shillings per share.

Home Afrika and Nairobi Business Ventures lost 5.00 and 4.16 percent respectively at the price of 0.38 and 4.38 shillings per share respectively. Sameer Africa lost 3.42 percent at the price of 3.67 shillings per share.

The top movers’ table was ruled by the giant telecommunications company, Safaricom who sold 2.77 million shares currently with a market capitalization of 1.41 trillion shillings.

Equity Group sold 1.67 million shares with a market capitalization of 138.47 billion shillings followed by Kenya Power and Lighting Company with 740,200 shares with a market capitalization of 3.42 billion shillings.

Absa BankKenya sold 583,00 shares with a market capitalization of 51.17 billion shillings followed by Kenya Re-Insurance with 408,100 shares with a market capitalization of 7.56 billion shillings.
