Brigid Kosgei To Be The New Face Of “It Can Be” Journey

KEY POINTS
Stanbic Bank reaffirmed its commitment to support the SME’s and the transformation of lives of the various stakeholders in this sector.
Stanbic Bank Kenya has launched its new brand positioning, It Can Be, a move aimed at inspiring and encouraging both internal and external stakeholders to dream big and achieve their goals.
As the face of It Can Be, Stanbic Bank Kenya will be working closely with Kenyan women’s marathon world record holder, Brigid Kosgei as the brand ambassador.
Brigid is a fitting international athlete and has achieved a great deal at such a young age and is a true reflection of the brand. Her determination and focus portray the very essence of It Can Be.
Speaking during the launch event, the Chief Executive for Stanbic Bank Kenya, Mr. Charles Mudiwa said, “It Can Be speaks to the philosophy of who we are and where we are going as a Kenyan Bank. We recognize that we would not be where we are today without the support and trust of our clients and employees. We are therefore putting their dreams and aspirations at the forefront through this redefined positioning, providing them with experiences, platforms, and innovative solutions to unlock great possibilities.”
The partnership with Brigid is also in line with Stanbic Bank’s commitment to women empowerment which is core to its operations. Through its women proposition DADA, the bank continues to proactively invest in women and their business for a more equitable progressive society. Through various financial and non-financial offerings, the bank has managed to onboard over 10,000 women, and the numbers keep growing.
Kenya is a great sporting nation and Stanbic will continue to invest in sports as it is aligned to their pursuit of promoting a homegrown agenda through people. This investment has contributed to a thriving sports economy ecosystem demonstrable in the socio-economic impact across sport, business, and youth in the years supported. “Athletics have a positive impact on youth empowerment, and we shall continue to work with Brigid and like-minded partners to develop talent among the youth”, Mr. Mudiwa added.
Speaking at the launch event, Brigid noted that, “Sometimes all we need is a partner who believes in us. We all face challenges in our lives, but these should not deter us from going forth and achieving our goals. Stanbic Bank has been there to support me in my journey and helped me realize that my dreams can come true. Stanbic has been by my side and looks at me holistically and has enabled me to grow as an individual and support my family and community.”
Stanbic Bank has been on a transformational journey to reinvent its service offerings to customers by listening and incorporating their feedback and developing tailor-made solutions. Through the brand repositioning, Stanbic Bank will be an enabler to making customers’ dreams and aspirations come true by partnering with both private and public sector players to provide debt and payment relief for small businesses and also offer installment relief for personal and business banking customers.
Mr. Mudiwa further noted that “Our clients are faced with disruptive challenges in their day to day lives, the most recent challenge being the global pandemic that has shifted the way we interact, socialize, and do business. Such interruptions can set us back and we all need a reliable partner who understands our needs and can walk with us to help us stay on track and achieve our goals.”
The repositioning is embodied through several existing client solutions and Stanbic Bank’s efforts to support its customers during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Stanbic Bank reaffirmed its commitment to support the SME’s and the transformation of lives of the various stakeholders in this sector. Through the Stanbic Bank Foundation, the bank plans to continue growing the entrepreneurship ecosystem and unlock possibilities through four key pillars of business competitiveness, funding, markets, and influencing policy. The bank has also used its knowledge to develop digital solutions that meet the SMEs’ unique needs.
Stanbic Bank continues to play a crucial role in providing financial support to Kenya’s agricultural sector by enhancing the modernization of the processes as a means of improving productivity, efficiency, and value addition in the agribusiness supply chain.
With the digital economy putting new demands on the banking industry, their business is now immersed in a digital transformation which plays a critical role in redesigning the entire operations of the Bank, through the innovation of products, services, and channels.
On the back of the bank’s purpose, Kenya is our home, and we drive her growth, Stanbic Bank endeavors to be an agent of change and bring out bold and innovative changemakers who are more curious, and more responsive through the banks existing client solutions. “We are a nation of resilient achievers and go-getters and Stanbic Bank is here to inspire belief in Kenya’s future. If you believe, you can achieve, It Can Be.” said Mr. Mudiwa.
