The Governor for Meru County, Kiraitu Murungi, has tested positive for Covid-19. He tested positive 12 days after receiving the Covid-19 vaccine.

Currently, Meru County has 137 confirmed active Covid-19 cases. The County boss is now said to be in self-isolation as doctors attend to him.

The Ministry of Health had told Kenyans that the vaccine was not meant to make their bodies bulletproof against the virus. The Ministry says people could still get infected even after vaccination.
