KDF Kicks Off A Series Of Projects With The Launch Of Operational Vehicles And Engineers Equipment

“Much is demanded of the defense forces and other security agencies in maintaining a secure environment for the development of our Republic,” these are the words of Kenya Defence Forces that have been on the forefront of securing the nation.

For years, the Kenya Defence Forces have been deemed as the most disciplined and hardworking institution within the country in helping on key projects and collaborating with other entities to provide and secure Kenyan borders from foreign aggression.

To help KDF continue shining, the Ministry of Defence in collaboration with the Kenya Defence Forces has launched the Kenya Defence Forces Operational Vehicles and Engineer Equipment at the Thika Barracks. This is to boost mission readiness for state security, defense and cooperation.

The function, president over by President Uhuru Kenyatta will see KDF improve its operational capability as they strive to defend the country within and without.

“We are continually aligning its posture and capability to meet current and emerging threats. This informs KDF’s enduring focus on Mission Readiness. We are ready,” said KDF through their official Twitter handle.

Apart from boosting the troop’s morale, the project launched will support them to achieve results. It will also guarantee territorial integrity and sovereignty for all Kenyans.

The government has been at the forefront of advocating for the Buy Kenya Built Kenya polity in an effort to support the local manufacturing sector. The project is in line with the calls from the government for the same in vehicle manufacturing.

The project is among a series of other projects that KDF plans to launch in the next 15 days. The second project will be the setting up of robust business process systems to cater to the needs of livestock farmers. The ministerial responsibility for the Kenya Meat Commission was transferred to the Ministry of Defense on September 7, 2020. The full production will be on May 24, 2021.

Farmers have already started reaping the benefits of the transfer of KMC to MoD after the ministry moved to clear all the pending bills that had been weighing it down.

On May 27, 2021, President Uhuru Kenyatta will award the Charter for the National Defence University (NDU). This will mark a significant addition to the growing addition of centers of excellence in training within the Ministry 0f Defence.

The University will boost training, research, and analysis institutions in dealing with defense, security, and strategic matters.
