Safaricom Moves 3.10 Million Shares To Top The NSE

Kenya’s telecommunications giant, Safaricom was the top mover of the day at the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE) after selling 3.10 million shares with a market capitalization of 1.62 trillion shillings.

Kenya Re-Insurance was the second top mover with 1.54 million shares and a market capitalization of 6.92 billion shillings followed by East Africa Breweries Limited who moved 1.40 million shares and a market capitalization of 150.25 billion.

The Co-operative Bank of Kenya sold 1.30 million shares with a market capitalization of 71.29 billion shillings while Equity Group moved 1.28 million shares with a market capitalization of 162.27 billion shillings.

Home Africa was the top loser of the day with 4.76 percent at the price of 0.40 shillings per share followed by the Nairobi Securities Exchange that lost 4.21 percent at the price of 8.64 shillings per share.

Liberty Kenya, Stanlib Fahari Income – REIT, and Express lost 2.86, 2.23, and 2.22 percent respectively at the price off of 6.80, 6.14, and 4.40 shillings per share respectively.

The top gainer of the day was TPS Eastern Africa (Serena) with 7.14 percent at the price of 15.00 shillings per share followed by Jubilee Holdings with 7.05 percent at the price of 299.75 shillings per share.

Nairobi Business Ventures, Sameer Africa, and Umeme gained 6.23, 5.81, and 4.93 percent respectively at the price of 5.80, 3.46. 6.38 shillings per share respectively.
