Avoid Back to School Hassles by Paying and Shopping With Co-op Bank

Times have changed – for the better. Unlike the old days when school fees were delivered via envelopes and shopping involved queuing for long to get cash, today you can achieve all that just by using your smartphone courtesy of Co-op Bank Kenya.

This season, again, Co-operative Bank is coming through with nifty ways of simplifying your kids back to school process.

From settling school fees and their arrears to shopping, you can use a range of Co-op Bank’s services, most of which are executed right from the comfort of your home.

You can use Co-op Bank’s MCo-op Cash by following the following steps:

  • Log in to MCo-op Cash
  • Select Other Payments
  • Select School Fees
  • Enter school code/business number; click here to confirm your school’s coordinates
  • Enter account to pay from
  • Enter student number
  • Confirm transaction
  • Receive SMS confirming that the transaction was successful

You can also use M-PESA Paybill to pay for the fees through these steps:

  • Go to Lipa na M-Pesa (PayBill)
  • Enter Business Code 400222
  • Enter Account Number as School Code followed by # followed by the student number, for example, 1059#123456789

(NB: Click here to confirm your school’s coordinates)

  • Enter amount
  • Enter M-PESA PIN
  • Confirm transaction
  • Receive SMS confirming that the transaction was successful

Those are not the only options. You can also use the Co-op Kwa Jirani services to deposit cash in the school’s account. The services are free of charge, and you will get a receipt showing the student’s name, ID Number, and the amount paid.

Alternatively, you can use PesaLink to transfer cash from your Co-op Bank to any local bank account instantly through the following steps:

  1. Access MCo-op Cash via *667# or open the MCo-op Cash App
  2. Select PesaLink and link your Co-op Bank accounts to your mobile number. Linking your accounts is free of charge.

Once you link your Co-op Bank accounts to PesaLink, you will be able to access PesaLink services via:

  • Co-op Kwa Jirani Agents
  • Co-op Bank ATMs
  • Co-op Bank Mobile Banking (MCo-op Cash)
  • Our branches

Co-op Internet Banking (Co-opNet) is yet another simple way:

  1. Log in to Co-op Internet Banking
  2. Select ‘Bank Transfer’
  3. Enter the required details for the school’s account
  4. Confirm the transfer
  5. Print out your receipt once the payment goes through
