IEBC Flies 4 Commissioners To Mombasa To Unveil Them

The Commissioners being "unveiled" by IEBC were interviewed in public, with all the sessions televised live, they were appointed by the President publicly and took the oath of office publicly, so, why are they being unveiled?

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has flown the 4 newly appointed commissioners to Mombasa to “unveil them to the public.” Talk of wastage of our taxes by people who were born to eat them. Why can’t they just work?

The Commissioners being “unveiled” by IEBC were interviewed in public, with all the sessions televised live, they were appointed by the President publicly and took the oath of office publicly, so, why are they being unveiled? Do we have that much money?

The four commissioners are Juliana Whonge Cherera, Francis Mathenge Wanderi, Irene Cherop Masit, and Justus Abonyo Nyang’ay were sworn in by Chief Justice Martha Koome at the Supreme Court. The searing in was done in public.

The four, who are set to hold office for the next years, will be replacing Vice-Chairperson Consolata Nkatha, commissioners Margaret Mwachanya, Paul Kurgat, and Roselyn Akombe, who resigned during the last election period.

 

IEBC Chairman Wafula Chebukati said that the Commission needs at least 40.9 billion shillings to “successfully hold the 2022” national elections. So, does the 40 billion shillings include flying in and out of Nairobi to Mombasa to unveil human beings?

It is high time we let these people know that we toil to pay taxes. They should know that we do not pay taxes for them to enjoy better lives than us. We cannot sit and watch as our taxes get squandered.
