TSC Announces 1,995 Vacancies: Here Are The Requirements And salary

The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has advertised 1,995 vacancies on internship vacancies for teachers. The advertised positions include 1,038 for primary school teachers and 957 for secondary schools.

The internship program will last for one year and is meant to equip and sustain the competencies of persons entering the service.

The program is targeting the unemployed registered teachers and they will be assigned to various institutions to perform their duties as per the Commission.

The TSC Chief Executive Officer Ms. Nancy Macharia called upon all qualified individuals to submit their applications by September 27. All applications will be online with applicants required to visit the website www.tsc.go.ke under the careers’ portal or www.teachersonline.go.ke

“The program targets unemployed registered teachers to be assigned to learning institutions where their teaching experience will be enhanced through mentorship, coaching, and exposure to practical teaching experience,” stated Ms. Nancy

All applicants must be registered with TSC, have at least hold a P1 Certificate for primary school teachers, and have a minimum of a diploma in Education Certificate for Secondary School teachers.

Additionally, they must be armed with all original and any other certificates, and be ready to serve in any part of the nation. The successful applicants will earn a monthly stipend of 15,000 shillings for primary teachers, and 20,000 shillings for secondary teachers.

However, the stipends will be subject to statutory deductions where applicable. Ms. Nancy further called upon the applicants to beware of conmen, adding that the application exercise was free.

Any fraudulent activity must be reported to the nearby TSC office, or TSC headquarters, or a nearby police station. At the same time, the commission also re-advertised 48 teaching posts in secondary schools on permanent and pensionable terms.

Requirements for applicants

1. Be a Kenyan citizen
2. Be a registered teacher with the Teachers Service Commission
3. Be a holder of a P1 Certificate for Primary school teachers and a minimum of a Diploma in Education Certificate for Secondary school teachers
4. Have an original academic and professional certificate.
5. Should not have been in previous employment with the TSC as a teacher on permanent terms.
6. Be ready to be posted to any public educational institution in Kenya.
7. Must have a personal Accident Insurance to cover for Personal risks during the internship period
