The Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) and Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) candidates have until the end of this month to confirm and verify their registration details.

The Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) and Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) candidates have until the end of this month to confirm and verify their registration details.

This comes when the schools across the country reopened yesterday after the end of the midterm break that came as a result of the student’s unrest in secondary schools.

The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC), has revealed how Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) and Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) candidates can confirm their registration details

KNEC has given an update on the level of preparedness towards administering national exams to class eight and form four candidates.

In a statement, according to KNEC Chief Executive Officer, David Njeng’ere, instructed headteachers, teachers, parents, students, and other education stakeholders to check and confirm the registration details.

While verifying, the attention will be on the year of birth and gender, which must be the same as the details on the birth certificate which were used in the registration process.

KCSE is slated to begin on Monday, February 28, 2022, with orals in foreign languages and end on April 1, 2022, with Physics practical. KCPE, on the other hand, is slated to kick off on March 7, 2022, with a Mathematics paper and end March 9 with the Social Studies paper.

On September 15, KNEC directed all students and their teachers to confirm the candidates’ details via text messages.

Confirming registration details is also key as it provides candidates with an opportunity to ensure their names, gender and subjects are accurate. In the past, candidates have been forced to sit for subjects they did not wish to undertake.

The exercise is expected to verify all students are supposed to sit for the national examinations and include them in the budget.

While releasing the national examinations timetable, KNEC directed candidates to ensure that they arrive for the exams 15 minutes before the start time of 8:30 am
