Here Is TSC January 2022 Replacement Slots For Teachers Per County

The Teacher Service Commission, TSC, On Wednesday, January 19th, 2022, announced the mass recruitment of teachers.
According to TSC Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Nany Macharia confirmed that the commission was recruiting 2,945 teachers. The national recruitment drive will see TSC hire 2,053 primary school teachers and 892 secondary school teachers.
TSC explained that the recruitment drive will allow the commission to replace members of the workforce who left the practice through natural attrition. These include those who were sacked retired, declared redundant, or passed away in 2021.

Nancy Macharia said the Commission had further set aside Sh.1.2 billion this year to engage intern teachers to help address the existing teacher shortage in primary and secondary schools.


She added that TSC will train 113, 223 teachers over the April 2022 holidays out of which 90, 806 will come from public schools and the rest from private schools. The teachers will be trained in early grades 1, 2, 3, and grade 4 in readiness for the implementation of CBC.
“I am confirming that CBC training will continue until all teachers are fully equipped with the requisite competencies,” she said, adding that the pieces of training will continue over the August and December holidays
The launch of the county dialogues which will take place in all counties between July 15 and 19 are expected to pave way for the National Education Conference on Curriculum Reforms to be held in August.
According to Macharia, the conference will enable the sharing of all the country-specific issues raised from counties, collate relevant monitoring reports and ensure critical lessons are discussed.

- All applicants should be Kenyan citizens and have a TSC Number
- Interested candidates should create an account on TSC Online portal, teachersonline.tsc.go.ke
- To create an account, the teachers will need to update their academic qualifications complete with primary and secondary school certificates as well as those from the tertiary level.
- Those applying for primary school positions should have a Primary Teacher Education (PTE) Certificate (P1 certificate) from KNEC or a Bachelors of Education degree (Primary education) from a university recognized by the government of Kenya (with 2 teaching subjects.)
- Secondary school teachers require a Diploma in Education from a recognized teacher training institution
- They must have attained a minimum mean grade of C+ in KCSE or its equivalent (one principle and two subsidiaries in A-level) and at least C+ or credit pass in the two teaching subjects.
