Is Feminism Movement Worth Being Endorsed?

KEY POINTS
Feminism needs to be recognized as it brings growth to human rights unless you reject the idea that everyone deserves human rights.
KEY TAKEAWAYS
- Feminism is still relevant for modern women as it did for the twentieth century.
- If we want to achieve gender equality and empower men and women to live free lives then we need to support feminism.
Feminism basically means women to be given equal rights when it comes to social, economic, and political activities.
Feminism started formally at the Seneca Falls Convention in 1848 when three hundred men and women rallied to the cause of equality for women. Today, Feminism is still relevant for modern women as it did for the twentieth century.
The Movement needs to be recognized as it will bring growth to human rights unless you reject the idea that everyone deserves human rights. But if you are in support of gender equality then definitely you are in support of feminism.
Here are some reasons as to why you should support Feminism
Human Rights will be stronger
Whether a person is born male or female they should be treated equally in order to have similar chances in life. Feminism is raising awareness of this important topic and it is crucial especially in countries where there is still a big difference between men and women in all parts of their daily lives.
There will be less gender discrimination
Women’s rights are quite Confined in general. There are certain professions and activities reserved for men and women are not allowed to participate. With Feminism Movement, People will become more aware of the gender inequality problem in our society and we will embrace women significantly
Better and easy access to Education
In most poor parts of the world, women have limited access to education hence in families that have more children, boys will be given priority to go to school since they will be able to provide for the family, unlike the Girl Child.

It is therefore important to raise awareness on education Access so that every girl should be given equal rights and opportunities to Education in order to get out of poverty at some point.
Women will be treated better
All Over the World, most women are treated as goods and not humans. A lot of women living in poor conditions cannot be able to better their lives due to discrimination and lack of respect. Feminism can help to promote equality hence women will be treated better.
Leaving an unhappy marriage might be easier
Leaving an unhappy marriage is not as easy as it may seem to some women and laws. With the help of Feminism awareness, it will be easier for women to leave their unhappy marriages without fear of the consequences of the Law whenever they want to.
As much as feminism may seem like a good movement, it also has its own setbacks such as;
- Feminism may discriminate Men
-Already there are some Men treating the Women in their lives good hence they might feel discriminated against by some feminist Movement therefore these men will not see the essence of the movement.
- When it comes to cases of divorce, women might be preferred.
Divorce comes with a lot of burden to some men as they have to pay for Alimony not only in support of their kids but also ex Wife. All this is quite unreasonable from a man’s perspective as it might have been attributed to Feminism.
- In certain positions, women may not be acetated.
Although it might be easier for a woman to be promoted to a higher position than a man due to gender quotas and not a job description, it might be hard to be accepted by their Male colleagues
- May increase frustration and depression in some men.
feminism and the related effects may also lead to a high level of frustration of men who have to suffer from unfair treatment in various parts of their lives
Although today there are different contradictions when it comes to Feminism and some people might not be in line with it hence terming it to be toxic feminism. Toxic Feminism turns women into objects and punishes women who refuse to conform in the same way that toxic masculinity punishes men who step outside their assigned roles.
During an interaction with a couple of women, these were their responses.
”If it’s positive feminism I’d support coz it supports women against the members of society who want to undermine them…Toxic feminism is a no because it creates conflict in society and does not promote equity amongst members of society’’.
‘’ Feminism is unnatural. This is because female and male rights, opportunities, and responsibilities are naturally different. So, with feminism, it will bring an unnatural way of doing things.
‘’It makes me as a woman feel I can achieve anything I put my mind to and overcome patriarchy limitations.
If we want to achieve Gender Equality and empower Men and Women to Live free lives then we need to support Feminism as it is the only way to human rights and we need to break free from oppression and allow ourselves to thrive.
