DCI Arrests Man Fraudulently Selling an Apartment in Westlands

Attempts by one Hussein Fakhruddin Mohammedbhai, a notorious to obtain millions of shillings fraudulently were cut short by the DCI after they arrested the con selling an apartment that did not belong to him.

At the prevailing market rate, the 3-bedroom apartment worth over 40 million shillings was disposed of at a paltry 11 Million shillings.

Forensic document examination and handwriting experts based at the DCI National Forensic Laboratory established that Mohammedbhai, had forged a title deed certificate for the property and entered into a deal with a real estate company to dispose of the property on his behalf.

Luckily, the property’s owner got wind of the dubious deal and contacted the DCI. Further investigations showed that the suspect was a serial fraudster who had obtained close to 9 million shillings in a similar scheme.

Mohammedbhai is currently in custody for obtaining money by pretense and shall take a plea at the Kiambu Law Courts on Friday, March 18.

Any person who the suspect may have defrauded is urged to report to the DCI crimes unit.
