KEY TAKEAWAYS

Magoha assured Kenyans that his office would continue to monitor the examinations across the country despite reports of irregularities to ensure a smooth running of activities during the process.

According to Education CS Prof George Magoha, the over 1.2 million students who sat for their KCPE examinations will get their results sometime next week.

Speaking at Kayole South Secondary on Thursday, where he commissioned a CBC classroom, Magoha revealed that only three subjects are left to be marked, indicating that marking the exams will soon be done.

“The four to five days will be for Kiswahili, Insha, and Social Studies, so we are still working on sometime next week. Any time between Wednesday and Saturday,” said Magoha.

He also warned against examination cheating. He said that the examination had run smoothly so far, and they applaud teachers for their commitment during this exam period.

Addressing the issue of exam leakages, the CS dismissed the claims noting that early exposure of exams has been the only threat so far.

Magoha said most early exposure incidences occur after the examination has started.

“To impute that the exam has been leaked means that the exam has been reached before the examination is released from the container, and we all know that is not true.

Anyone with a cell phone has the time it was posted there, so please stop confusing the children and scaring them. This exam has not leaked, and it shall not be leaked,” He added.

Magoha assured Kenyans that his office would continue to monitor the examinations across the country despite reports of irregularities to ensure a smooth running of activities during the process.

The news comes as the education ministry pointed out irregularities within the KCPE/KCSE exam period.
