What Should You Expect In NBA To March 17?

The first of three live NBA Regular Season games this week arrives on the morning of Saturday 12 March, as the Los Angeles Clippers host the Atlanta Hawks at the Staples Center (02:30 LIVE on ESPN).

The Clippers’ Luke Kennard will be hoping to continue his fine recent form, which included a 25-point haul in a massive win over the Houston Rockets. “I think the last few games I played, there were some shots that I turned down and I think tonight I shot some tougher shots and had tougher looks,” Kennard said. “That’s what the coaches wanted me to do. Any kind of space, they want me to get it off, and I thought I had the mindset of just doing it.”

The evening of Sunday 13 March features a double-header of action, with the Brooklyn Nets and New York Knicks renewing their ‘Big Apple’ rivalry with a meeting at the Barclays Center (19:00 LIVE on ESPN 2).

The last meeting of these two teams saw the Knicks blow a 28-point lead to lose 111-106. “You get a big lead, you got to play tough with a lead,” Knicks coach Tom Thibodeau said. “You have to understand how to play with a lead, so we haven’t done that. We haven’t done that well. We just talked about that… obviously, you’re doing a lot of good things to build those leads, and then how do you play with the lead. You have to play tough with a lead, and so we didn’t do that.”

The Nets v Knicks will be followed by the Boston Celtics hosting the Dallas Mavericks at the TD Garden in Massachusetts (21:30 LIVE on ESPN 2). Celtic star Jaylen Brown has explained how the team in green and white has come on in leaps and bounds through the course of the 2021-22 season.

“We definitely lost some games we felt like we shouldn’t have lost early in the season. Now we get the chance to play some of these teams again and we’re looking to pull out some wins,” Brown said. “We had a lot of guys making plays right now and that’s what we need to do in the fourth quarter. We’ve been finding ways to win – defensively, timely baskets and we’ve been sealing out games.”
