The Teachers Service Commission, TSC, announces mass transfers of teachers starting this April as its plans to balance staffing across all schools. TSC Chief Executive Officer Nancy Macharia said the process will be done with a human face and will end on May 9th.
According to Nancy Macharia, TSC seek to have a proportionate number of teachers in public schools after it emerged that some schools were understaffed while other had more than the required teachers. This means that schools with more teachers will have some of their teachers transferred to understaffed schools.
According to TSC, the transfer letters for both classroom teachers and school administrators are available at their sub-county office country-wide. School headteachers and principals are in charge of collecting and issuing transfer letters to their respective teachers in schools.
