- Ethiopia
Ethiopia produces coffee arabica, which has become a global product over the years. It is the highest producer and exporter of African Coffee and one of the top exporters of coffee in the world. Its African Coffee are of three prominent brands due to regions of production. They include Yirgacheffe, Limu and Harrar.
Ethiopian Harrar coffee is generally highly rated and known for its winey and fruity, floral-toned acidity – bright in the cup, sweet and tasty aroma. Almost 50 percent of the country’s coffee production is consumed domestically.
- Tanzania
This country produces the best medium roast Robusta and Arabica coffee. They are mainly grown in
Mount Kilimanjaro and Mount Meru. Coffee is Tanzania’s largest export crop averaging thirty to forty thousand tons annually.

- Uganda
Uganda is one of the biggest exporters of African Coffee on the continent. Their good African coffee is widely enjoyed in several countries of the world. This African coffee is obtained from Robusta coffee trees. They have low acidity but high bitterness. Some of its known brands include Rukoki Gold, Espresso Roast, Freeze Dried Instant, and Rwenzori Mountains.
- Côte d’Ivoire
Coffee is the second-largest export product of the Ivory Coast. The global ranking for the production of coffee is an unimpressive 12th rank. Ivory coast coffee is known to be bitter and coarse yet so flavorful.
