Teachers who secure jobs with TSC under the internship program are required to serve for a period of one year. However, it is important to remember that if TSC advertises employment vacancies on permanent terms, intern teachers are eligible to apply.

Unsatisfactory performance or failure to conform to the standards of conduct prescribed for the Internship may lead to termination of the internship at the initiative of the Commission or an Officer or Agent of the Commission.

According to the TSC internship agreement, the Internship will be non-remunerative. However, interns will be paid a stipend as may be determined by the TSC from time to time. In this regard, the Commission will make budgetary provisions on an annual basis.

How to apply for TSC Internship opportunities for Primary school teachers:

  1. Visit the TSC Website by using the link http://hrmis.tsc.go.ke
  2. From the Menu, select Careers followed by Teachers/ Secretariat. Next, click on ‘Apply for Teachers Internship Position.’
  3. In the screen displayed, Type in the TSC No, ID number, and mobile and choose your selection either primary or secondary by clicking the drop-down menu as shown below and click ok.
  4. An SMS from TSC will be sent to your line. Type in the SMS code and click ‘OK’
  5. In the displayed, Click on Apply/view. Fill in your details, correctly.
  6. Next, Choose the Ref from the drop-down and fill in the other details not auto-filled, and click ok. Click ‘YES’ on the next screen.
  7. A screen will then be displayed showing the list of applications done by applicants.

How to apply for TSC Internship opportunities for Secondary school teachers:

  1. Visit the TSC Website by using the link http://hrmis.tsc.go.ke
  2. From the Menu, select Careers followed by Teachers/ Secretariat. Next, click on ‘Apply for Teachers Internship Position.’
  3. In the screen displayed, Type in the TSC No, ID number, and mobile and choose your selection either primary or secondary by clicking the drop-down menu as shown below and click ok.
  4. An SMS from TSC will be sent to your line. Type in the SMS code and click ‘OK’
  5. In the displayed, Click on Apply/view. Fill in your details, correctly.
  6. Choose the Ref from the drop-down list as shown and fill in the other details not auto-filled and click ok.
  7. Click the button +click here to apply to a school.
  8. Choose the subjects, county, sub-county, and school and click ok.
  9. The teacher can apply for several vacancies. CLICK OK.
  10. When done, a pop-up screen ‘Job Application’ will be displayed. Click on ‘Yes’ to submit your application.

Documents Required For Primary Intern Teachers

  1. National identification card
  2. Certificate of Registration as a teacher;
  3. PTE Certificate;
  4. KCSE certificates or its equivalent (include certificates for attempts if one re-sat exam)
  5. KCPE certificate or its equivalent (include certificates for attempts if one re-sat exam)
  6. Proof of payment for the Statement of confirmation of results by KNEC (where applicable)
  7. Primary and Secondary School leaving certificates and other relevant testimonials.
  8. National Council of Persons with Disability (NCPWD) Card (where applicable)
  9. Sworn Affidavit where names appearing on the submitted documents differ
