Equity Turnover Shrinks By 26.6% To USD 11 Million

Weekly equity turnover shrank by 26.6 percent w-o-w to USD 11.77 MN (KES 1.44 BN). NSE 20 and NASI fell by 0.8 percent and 1.3 percent w-o-w to close at 1,652.06 and 127.28, respectively.

Foreign investors assumed a net selling position by accounting for 74.9 percent of foreign sales and 41.5 percent of foreign purchases.

Fixed Income

Weekly bond turnover declined by 8.6 percent w-o-w to close at USD 108.53 MN (KES 13.27 BN). The 91-day, 182-day, and 364-day t-bill yields rose by 5 bps, 1 bp, and 4 bps to close at 9.237 percent and 9.733 percent, and 10.219 percent, respectively.

USD|KES: KES weakened by 0.2 percent w-o-w to close at 122.28 (-8.1 percent year-to-date).

FX Reserve: Import cover fell by 2.0 percent to close at 3.95 months (-26.7 percent year-to-date).
