List of Kenyans Among 100 Most Influential Young Africans

The list, which was announced by  Africa Youth Awards in collaboration with Avance Media was curated to recognize and celebrates young people who are making a positive impact in their communities and industries across the continent.  It featured young Africans from 25 countries.

“We are proud to announce the 7th edition of the 100 Most Influential Young Africans, which celebrates the achievements and contributions of young people across the continent,’’ said Avance Media Founder and Managing Director Prince Akpa.

The list covers young people working in a variety of industries, including media, business, leadership, climate change, and entertainment.

Nigeria recorded the highest representatives at 31, followed by 11 Kenyans, 10 Ghanaians, 5 South Africans, and 7 Tanzanians. The list also showcases the diversity and strength of young people, with 43 females and 57 males.

The 11 Kenyans are:

  1. Nairobi governor Johnson Sakaja
  2. Climate activist Anita Soina
  3. CNN journalist Larry Madowo,
  4. Tennis star Angella Okutoyi
  5. Athlete Ferdinand
  6. Leadership coach Caren Wakoli
  7. CNN Hero of the Year Nelly Cheboi
  8. Environmentalist Elizabeth Wanjiru Wathuti
  9. Charlot Magayi
  10. Mohammed Adow
  11. Amandla Ooko-Ombaka.

In the entertainment industry, the list featured some top musicians in the continent, including Wizkid, Mr. Eazi, Rema, Fireboy, Davido, Omah Lay, Kizz Daniel, Zuchu, and Mbosso, among others.

Mr. Akpa expressed hope that the list would inspire more young people to take on leadership roles and to continue to make a positive impact in their communities.

‘’It also serves as a platform for recognition, networking, and collaboration, allowing these young people to drive change and make a lasting impact on the continent,’’ he added.
