Meanwhile, President Dr William Ruto on Monday, 15 May 2023, nominated Dr Njoroge’s replacement at the helm of CBK. In a statement issued by Public Service Chief Felix Koskei, former Treasury Principal Secretary Kamau Thugge was appointed to the position.

Dr. Njoroge is expected to retire soon, having served in the position since June 2015. “Mr. Thugge’s appointment followed a competitive recruitment process conducted by the Public Service Commission,” said Mr Koskei.
