PSC Announces 8,000 Job Opportunities For Kenyans, How To Apply

The Public Service Commission (PSC) has announced the recruitment of 8000 internship opportunities for Kenyans in Government Ministries, Departments, and Agencies for the financial year 2023/2024.

The PSC made an announcement on Tuesday, July 25. They noted that those eligible for the internship mainly are graduates who shall gain experience to build their skills on employment.

“The Public Service Internship Programme (PSIP) is a government youth empowerment program whose main objective is to offer college graduates the opportunity to gain hands-on experience and build skills in order to enhance their chances for employment, networking, and entrepreneurship,” the advert read in part.

According to a candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university, graduated not earlier than 2017, and be proficient in computer skills.

The PSC said during the internship the interns will be completing duties mutually agreed upon and assigned by the supervisors.

Additionally, the interns are required to actively engage in any relevant mentorship activities and be willing to take on additional responsibilities designated to them throughout the 12-month period of internship. PSC said the internship will take 12 months which is non-renewable.

“The interns will be paid a stipend at a rate determined by the government. On successful completion of the internship program they will be awarded certificates,” PSC said.

Upon successful completion of the internship program, interns will be awarded a certificate. Applications for the internship positions are open as interested and qualified graduates are encouraged to apply through the Commission’s job portal. The application deadline will be on August 14, 2023.

“Interested applicants are requested to make their applications through the commission’s job portal.”

Applicants interested in the internship program are expected to apply through  www.publicservice.go.ke or www.psckjobs.go.ke website. Upon completion, the interns will be awarded a certificate.

Last week, President William Ruto announced that he intends to create one million jobs for Murang’a residents via the affordable housing program. The president made the announcement while in Murang’a County. The same is set to be replicated across the country where sites for the construction of more affordable houses will be located.
