KUCCPS Extends Application Deadline For KMTC Students

Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has extended the deadline for the application of Students who are seeking to join the Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) and missed out on the first application placements.

KUCCPS has explained in a statement that the new deadline for placement applications will be Saturday, September 16, 2023. According to the commission, the extension which was announced on Tuesday, September 12, was granted following requests from KMTC students and stakeholders.

“Did you apply for Kenya Medical Training College courses through KUCCPS but missed them? Log in to and choose another KMTC course, free of charge,” the statement read in parts.

Earlier, KUCCPS had announced the deadline for KMTC placement which was on September 10. KUCCPS noted that several students had been left out. This will allow KMTC applicants who did not get a chance to at the local medical schools within Kenya Medical Training College to try again.

The extension also gives students more time to make informed decisions about their future studies, by choosing related courses which they would like to pursue.

Some of the courses offered range from certificates and diplomas. Certificate courses include Medical Engineering, Health Records and Information Technology, Orthopedic Trauma Medicine, Community Health, Nutrition, and Dietetics.

Some of the Diploma courses one can apply for include; Medical Laboratory Sciences, Radiography and Imaging, Health Counselling, Nutrition and Dietetics, and Community Health.

How to apply for KMTC courses through KUCCPS

1. Visit the KUCCPS student portal.
2. Click the “KMTC Programmes” menu
3. Select the course you wish to study and ensure that you meet its cut-off points, entry, and subject requirements
4. After choosing the desired course, add it to your basket.
5. Pay via Mpesa and submit your application

KMTC Application Requirements

1. A minimum mean grade of C is required in the KCSE.
2. A minimum grade of C+ in core subjects such as Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, or Physics.
3. You should provide your documents such as a KCSE result slip, leaving certificate, national ID card, or birth certificate copy.
