Equities Turnover Dips 84.5% To End At Ksh 42.6 Million

Equities Turnover declined by 84.5% to KES 42.6Mn down from KES 274.4Mn the previous trading day. Domestic investors were the dominant players on the day. They accounted for c. 80.4% of the total market turnover.

Foreign investors remained bearish on key blue chips to print net outflows of KES 11.77Mn in the day.

Safaricom Group was the most traded counter on the day – accounting for 44.5% of the total market activity. The stock’s turnover came in at KES 19.0Mn – with net outflows amounting to KES 5.0Mn.

Fixed Income Turnover increased by 15.88% to KES 2.63Bn up from KES 2.27Bn the previous trading day.

The FXD segment was the highest-grossing segment of the day – accounting for 57.7% of trades above KES 50Mn.

IFB1/2023/017 was the most frequently traded paper of the day.
