Despite Negative Reporting By Clueless Media, Kenya Airways Soldiers Forth To A Better Future

Kenya Airways has been in the news lately for the wrong reasons, with some people having a negative perception of the airline. However, recent industry numbers show that Kenya Airways is making significant strides towards improving its services and customer experience.

In 2023, Kenya Airways reported an operating profit of Kshs 998 million, marking the first time in six years that the airline has recorded a profit of 1. The airline’s revenue grew by 56% to Kshs 75 billion, while passenger numbers increased by 43% to 2.3 million. These numbers are a testament to the airline’s commitment to providing high-quality services to its customers.

Kenya Airways has also taken steps to address customer complaints and improve its services. For instance, the airline recently concluded negotiations for four out of five Collective Bargaining Agreements, which will see its employees receive a 22% salary increment. This move is expected to boost employee morale and improve the airline’s service delivery.

Furthermore, Kenya Airways has secured an additional aircraft through a short-term lease program, which will enhance its operational capacity and flexibility for the peak travel season 2. The Airbus A330, with a capacity to carry 295 passengers, is expected to begin operations within the airline’s network on 21 December 2023. This strategic decision will enable Kenya Airways to allocate proper time for maintenance activities for its other fleet and further minimize disruptions.
