NCBA Avails Ksh 5 Million As Scholarship For 17 Needy Students In Partnership With Palmhouse

For 15 years running, NCBA Bank has maintained its partnership with Palmhouse Foundation to help bright but needy students pursue and quench their education thirst through scholarships that have seen them move through secondary and university without spending a cent.

This year, the Kenyan lender has given 5.4 million shillings that will go towards funding at least 17 students under the Palmhouse Foundation as they seek to fulfill their dream in education with the promise of continuing the partnership into the future.

Since its inception, the partnership between NCBA and Palmhouse has sponsored at least 1,000 students from secondary to university. NCBA has always been committed to bringing into its fold at least 17 students annually through the partnership.

“We are planting the seeds of empowerment, growth, and transformative change. I firmly believe that nothing should hinder you from achieving your goals. Our choice to assist these young individuals demonstrates our faith that education is a fundamental building block for progress. Since 2007, our partnership with Palmhouse Foundation has enabled us to sponsor 17 students annually and provide mentorship and financial donations through various partners,” said Nelly Wainaina from NCBA Bank.

NCBA has worked with the Palmhouse Foundation for a record 15 years with a commitment that has been informed by the impact the lender has witnessed as a result of the association with the Foundation.

According to Nelly, supporting such impactful courses is deeply rooted in NCBA’s core values given that education is a fundamental human right with benefits extending beyond the individual, as it positively influences communities and societies at multiple levels.

“In a world where education is power, I am certain that handing over these cheques goes beyond providing financial aid; it shows that we believe in the beneficiaries of this foundation. It shows that we care about the future of our country,” she added.
