Harun Runs With Division One Title Of NCBA Golf Series

As the ninth leg of the NCBA Golf Series continues to gain momentum, attracting talents from across the country, Harun Wanyama carried the day in the fiercely contested Division One category that took place at the Kenya Airforce Golf Club in Eastleigh, Nairobi.

This was the first time the series was hosted at the Airforce’s nine-hole course with a strong field of 97 golfers battling it out for coveted spots at the series’ Grand Finale. The event also saw the spot enthusiasts throng the course to witness the battle.

The competition was fierce across all categories, with players vying for top honors in Division 1, Division 2, Division 3 and the Junior category. Wanyama, playing off a handicap of 4, secured a commanding win with a total of 40 points. Major Elvis Murunga (Handicap six), finished runner-up with 37 points, playing off a handicap 6.

In the men’s Division 2 category, Wally Bitok (Handicap 17), clinched the top spot with 46 points. Handicap 20 Jacob Chacha finished as the runner-up, carding 43 points. Carol Nthiwa ( 23) dominated the ladies’ Division Two category, securing 33 points to beat Damaris Kikwal (handicap 21) to second with 32 points.

Col. Henry Mwereneru (H50) reigned supreme in Division Three with a score of 49 points. Meanwhile, the Junior category was won by Hakeem Mutungi (handicap 21), who impressed with a score of 28 points.

Jeremiah Kariuki, playing off a handicap of 33, was the guest winner with 39 points while Jared Onyancha (H32) claimed the Staff title with 35 points.
