OPPO Reno12 Series Officially Launched Into The Kenyan Market

OPPO announced the launch of two new AI Phones – Reno12 and Reno12 F – and introduced a suite of industry-leading GenAI features set to unlock new realms of productivity and creativity. The two models represent a new chapter in the history of the popular OPPO Reno Series and the first major release under OPPO’s commitment to accelerate the adoption of AI Phones.
Both Reno12 and Reno12 F 5G feature a Futuristic Fluid Design and High-Strength Alloy Framework that create a stunning new look while ensuring the most robust design on the Reno Series phone yet with enhanced protection against drops, pressure, and water.
Powered by the new MediaTek Dimensity 7300-Energy mobile platform developed exclusively by MediaTek and OPPO, the Reno12 5G is set to deliver exceptional power efficiency for its users. Combined with OPPO’s 80W SUPERVOOCTM Flash Charge technology and the highest energy density 5,000mAh battery in Reno Series history, the new Reno12 will ensure ultra-long battery life, lightning-fast charging, and up to four year’s optimal battery lifespan as the Reno Series continues to push the boundaries of practicality, durability, and trend-setting style.
AI At Your Fingertips
Following OPPO’s global launch of OPPO’s commitment to bring AI capabilities to more people beyond the confines of high-end flagship smartphones. The Reno12 Series will introduce a suite of breakthrough GenAI features covering a range of everyday uses. With the newly updated AI Eraser 2.0, users can easily remove passing strangers in photos with a simple tap supporting the removal of a wide range of objects and natural filling in generated backgrounds at a faster speed.
AI Smart Image Matting 2.0 meanwhile has been updated with enhanced accuracy, allowing for multi-subject cutouts that can be saved as standalone stickers for future use. Also included on the phone is AI Studio, which provides a personalized AI-powered photography experience that can transform regular portraits into unique digital avatars.
For even more imaginative possibilities, AI Studio can create digital avatars or artistic portrait styles from just one single user photo. Users can reimagine themselves as cowboys, stars in a cyberpunk manga, or many other styles leveraging the new GenAI capabilities.
Alongside the AI imaging features, the OPPO Reno12 Series adds a range of useful AI productivity tools like AI Recording Summary, which can process voice recordings and extract key information into easy-to-read summaries. More features are wrapped in the AI Toolbox, including AI Writer for crafting quick emails, social media posts, and comments, AI Summary for extracting essential details from long passages of text, and AI Speak for reading articles aloud. Thanks to the easy-to-use AI Toolbox, users can conveniently call on these features from the sidebar to boost their productivity across a range of scenarios.
Audaciously sleek, conspicuously solid
Taking the Reno Series firmly into the future on Reno12 and Reno12 F is a bold, forward-looking design centered around flagship design.
Reno12 showcases a futuristic space-age silver exterior. The rear glass panel of Astor Silver has been crafted with OPPO’s Fluid Ripple Texture, creating a 3D-like sensation of rippling water cascading across a pond. The innovative use of the parallax effect ensures this visual sensation is achieved while maintaining the same mirror-smooth texture and feel that has become a hallmark of the Reno Series. For a more classic look, Matte Brown features a rich cocoa hue in a fingerprint-free finish.
Keeping this screen shielded on Reno12 is Corning® Gorilla® Glass 7i with its exceptional drop protection. With an IP65 rating, it also provides exceptional dust and water resistance, while critical components across the phone, including openings, speakers, the USB-C port, and the SIM card tray, have been reinforced to make the phone even more waterproof.
Capture life moments with the AI Portrait Expert
Equipped with a Sony LYT-600 sensor featuring full-pixel omnidirectional autofocus and OIS, the Main Camera of Reno12 offers faster and more stable focusing for clearer shots. Coupled with a Portrait Mode with up to 2x zoom for easy capture of stunning bokeh-rich portraits capable of rivalling those taken using professional cameras.
Reno12 features an enhanced Flash Snapshot, which adjusts the camera exposure process more agilely, allowing photos to capture more realistic lighting effects and natural skin tones. 4K video at 30fps is also available on both the rear and front-facing cameras for stunning high-definition video at four times the resolution of 1080p video.
OPPO Reno12 F 5G elevates the photography experience with an Ultra-Clear Camera System designed to capture sharp and natural portraits. The system includes a top-grade 50MP Main Camera, a 2MP Macro Camera for perfect close-up portraits, and a 112-degree 8MP Ultra-Wide-Angle camera, complemented by a 32MP selfie camera with multiple focal lengths.
“With the Reno12 series, OPPO promises to accelerate the use of AI phones, marking a significant milestone. Our dedication to cutting-edge technology is demonstrated by the Reno series, which highlights OPPO’s sophisticated GenAI capabilities, futuristic fluid design, and unmatched energy efficiency. Our objective is that artificial intelligence (AI) will personalize and streamline mobile devices, improving their functionality while revolutionizing user interface design.” Said Fredrique Achieng PR Manager OPPO Kenya.
Smooth, seamless and steady connectivity
Making its way to the Reno Series on both Reno12 and Reno12 F is the latest generation of OPPO’s proprietary AI LinkBoost technology. Consisting of nine individual antennas arranged in a 360° surround architecture, AI LinkBoost is able to boost signal reception and optimize network selection using a system-level AI model to perform agile network switching based on the user’s network environment. For the new generation of AI LinkBoost, OPPO has also conducted extensive local testing and optimization in markets worldwide to ensure consistently stable connectivity. This includes improving network latency in areas with weak signal or busy networks, enhancing seamless switch between WiFi and cellular network, and accelerating signal recovery speeds when exiting elevators or basements.
