KRA Announces New Bosses In A Leadership Shake-up

The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) has announced new leadership appointments aimed at strengthening its institutional capacity, enhancing service delivery, and driving organizational excellence.

Effective September 11, 2025, Ms. Nancy Ngétich, EBS, has been confirmed as the Commissioner for the Shared Services Department. She has been serving in the role in an acting capacity since February 2023, where she spearheaded reforms, including aligning human resources with KRA’s 9th Corporate Plan and promoting technology adoption to support revenue mobilization.

Before her appointment, Ms. Ngétich served as Deputy Commissioner, Policy & International Affairs in the Customs & Border Control Department, and as Senior Manager, Customs & Tax Advisory at Ernst & Young LLP. She played a key role in customs reforms, trade facilitation, the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) negotiations, and East African Community (EAC) customs policy. She is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya and a member of the Law Society of Kenya, the Institute of Certified Public Secretaries of Kenya, and the Kenya Institute of Management.

In addition, KRA announced changes in the Large & Medium Taxpayers Department. Mrs. Rispah Simiyu, FCCA, EBS, has been seconded to the National Treasury & Economic Planning, while Ms. Doreen Mbingi, currently Deputy Commissioner, Compliance East & South of Nairobi, has been appointed to lead the department in an acting capacity until a substantive appointment is made.

KRA congratulated Ms. Ngétich and Ms. Mbingi on their appointments and called on taxpayers and stakeholders to continue offering support and collaboration.

In a statement, the Authority reaffirmed its commitment to fulfilling its mandate of revenue mobilization for national development while delivering efficient, fair, and transparent services to taxpayers across the country.
