Kenafric’s STEAM Wraps Up Nationwide Festive Promo, Rewards Loyal Consumers with TVs, Phones and More

Kenafric Beverages and Bottling Limited has officially wrapped up the nationwide “Jibambe na STEAM” campaign, rewarding Kenyans who chose STEAM Energy Drink during the festive season and into the New Year. What started as a simple purchase quickly became a chance to win, turning everyday shopping into exciting and memorable moments. From weekly shopping vouchers to high-value electronics, many consumers enjoyed the thrill of winning while staying energised.
Grand finale celebrations in Nairobi
The campaign reached its peak on Valentine’s Day at Greenspan Mall in Nairobi, where the grand-prize winners were honoured during a lively award ceremony.
Shabir Rashid from Mtwapa won a 55-inch Smart TV; Edwin Reuben Chomba from Nairobi won a powerful subwoofer; and Mohamed Mgandi Ndura from Nyali won a new smartphone.
For the winners, the moment felt personal and meaningful.
“I usually see these promotions and never imagine I would be the one winning. When I got the call, I thought it was a joke. My children are very excited about the TV, so this really means a lot to us,” said Shabir Rashid, a store manager and father of three from Mtwapa.
Edwin Chomba, a 26-year-old tech enthusiast from Nairobi, shared his excitement. “Getting the message that I had won the subwoofer was a real shock. It is a great way to start the year.”
For Mohamed Ndura, a university student passionate about technology and agriculture, the timing felt perfect. “As a student, a new smartphone makes a big difference. I am really happy and thankful for the win.”
The ceremony was more than a prize-giving moment. It became a celebration of the everyday Kenyans who make STEAM part of their routines, celebrations, and busy lifestyles.
How Kenyans took part
The campaign connected with shoppers across major retailers, including Naivas, QuickMart, Eastmatt, Khetias, Mathai, and Magunas. Participation was simple and fun through a “Buy, Scan and Win” experience. Consumers purchased STEAM Energy Drink, scanned the QR code on the bottle neck tag, and uploaded their receipts for weekly draws.
Social media also played a major role. Kenyans shared photos and videos inspired by weekly themes such as festive celebrations and relatable “Njaanuary survival” stories using the hashtag #JibambeNaSTEAM. The entries captured real-life moments where energy, resilience, and enjoyment matter most.
A fast growing favourite in Kenya
The strong participation reflects the growing love for STEAM in Kenya’s energy drink market, where it continues to stand out as one of the country’s fastest growing energy drink brands. The brand has also earned recognition as a most preferred energy drink, supported by industry awards that highlight its growing popularity among consumers.
The conversation continues online, where fans can follow and join in using the hashtag #STEAMLoveAtFirstTaste.
Big Award for STEAM Energy Drink
The campaign builds on a strong 2025 for the STEAM brand, when it was recognised at the Kenya Beverage Excellence Awards 2025, held in November at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Nairobi. At this national industry event, STEAM was honoured as the Most Preferred Energy Drink in Kenya, celebrating its trusted quality and enduring appeal among local consumers. In addition, the newly launched STEAM Recharge won the Most Preferred New Beverage Concept** award for its refreshing, customer‑focused formulation, and the brand’s Power Up Game On campaign was named First Runner‑Up for Best Marketing Campaign of the Year, praised for its creativity and engagement with Kenya’s youth. Kenafric Beverages and Bottling Limited was also recognised as Runner‑Up Manufacturer of the Year, underscoring its commitment to quality production and innovation in the beverage sector.
Great taste, premium look, real energy solutions
At the heart of the celebration is what makes STEAM stand out. Great taste, a premium look, and energy solutions designed for real-life needs.
STEAM Recharge is ideal for replenishment and recovery after demanding schedules or travel. STEAM Power supports physical energy for active lifestyles and long days. STEAM Original delivers a reliable boost whenever an extra push is needed. Together, the variants give consumers the flexibility to choose the energy solution that fits their lifestyle.
More than a drink, a daily boost
The “Jibambe na STEAM” campaign shows how the brand continues to energise celebrations, busy routines, and the demanding start of the year. Every bottle offers more than refreshment. It offers the energy to keep moving forward and make the most of each day.
The campaign was conducted in full compliance with Betting Control and Licensing Board regulations under BCLB Number 0000316.
