KPC Foundation Sponsors 94 Students Living with Disabilities in Inaugural Grade 10 Cohort

The Kenya Pipeline Company (KPC) Foundation has enrolled 94 students living with disabilities from all 47 counties into the inaugural Grade 10 cohort under the Competency-Based Education Curriculum (CBE).
The Foundation will invest KSh 108 million to cater for tuition, assistive devices, and all related education costs required through senior school and university.
Announcing the sponsorship, KPC Managing Director and KPC Foundation Chairman, Mr. Joe Sang, said this year’s sponsorship support reflects the Foundation’s commitment to inclusive and equitable education.
“We celebrate the new milestone achieved through the INUKA Scholarship Programme’s enrolment of new students from all 47 counties into the first cohort transitioning to Grade 10 under the CBE curriculum.” He said.
“KPC Foundation remains committed to advancing inclusive, equitable, and quality education for learners from marginalized and vulnerable communities across the Country.” He added.
The announcement of the scholarship beneficiaries comes two months after the KPC Foundation announced the opening of applications for the 2026 Senior School Scholarships targeting students with disabilities who sat for the 2025 Kenya Junior School Education Assessment (KJSEA) examinations.
Eligible candidates were required to have attained results classified as Meeting Expectation or Exceeding Expectation in the 2025 KJSEA assessment.
Every year, the KPC Foundation supports one needy boy and one girl living with disability from every county through high school and university under the Inuka Scholarship Programme. To date, the programme has supported 839 students living with disability nationwide.
85 of the INUKA Scholarship beneficiaries participated in the 2025 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE). 39 students attained a grade of C Plus and above, meeting the threshold for university entry. This translates to a 47% transition to university, marking an improvement from 42% recorded in the previous cohort.
Among the top performers in the 2024 cohort is Lleyton Njagi, an alumnus of Alliance High School. Born with clubfoot, Lleyton began his education at Ol Kalou School for the Disabled. Two weeks before sitting his Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) examinations in 2021, he underwent corrective surgery.
“I sat for my exams with a plaster cast, and by God’s grace, I scored 399 marks. I was lucky to be sponsored by KPC through Inuka Scholarship Program. I sat for my KCSE in 2025 and scored an A Minus (79 points). I now hope to continue with my studies and pursue a career as a pilot, as I have a strong passion for the aviation sector. I extend my sincere gratitude to the KPC Family for believing in me.”
Another high achiever was Bethany Tehilla, an alumnus of Mary Hill Girls High school, who was the top pupil nationwide under the special needs category during her KCPE examinations.
“I am grateful to KPC Foundation for supporting my education through the Inuka Programme. I attained an A Minus in my KCSE exams. I thank God, my teachers and KPC for all their support”
Through the INUKA Scholarship Programme, KPC Foundation continues to strengthen access to education for learners living with disabilities, ensuring they are equipped with the resources, mentorship and support required to thrive academically and professionally.
