Carrefour’s MAF App Makes Grocery Shopping Faster, Smarter, and 24/7

Convenience has become the new currency of retail. Consumers want their groceries, household essentials, and everyday items delivered quickly, seamlessly, and with minimal effort.
Recognizing this shift, Carrefour, operated in Kenya by Majid Al Futtaim, is redefining the online shopping experience through the MAF App—a platform designed to make shopping faster, smarter, and more convenient for Kenyan households.
Speed and Convenience Through Express Delivery
One of the standout features of the MAF App is its Express Delivery service, which ensures that customers receive their orders within 60 to 90 minutes. This service is currently available 24/7 in selected areas across Nairobi, Diani, and Mombasa, giving customers the freedom to shop whenever the need arises.
With a minimum order value of KES 700, customers can quickly stock up on everyday essentials without leaving their homes. To make the service even more appealing, Carrefour is offering free delivery on orders above KES 4,000 until March 31.
The timing could not be better. As the holy month of Ramadan continues, Carrefour has also introduced free night deliveries until March 20, encouraging customers to conveniently shop for Suhoor and Iftar preparations from the comfort of their homes.
Planned Shopping With Scheduled Delivery
For customers who prefer planning their shopping, the app also offers Scheduled Delivery. This option allows shoppers to select a delivery time slot that suits their schedule.
Unlike express delivery, scheduled orders include the full assortment across all product categories, making it ideal for larger shopping trips. With a minimum order value of KES 1,000, customers can conveniently plan weekly or monthly grocery runs while still enjoying free delivery for orders above KES 4,000.
Smarter Product Discovery
Beyond delivery, the app is designed to make finding products easier. Customers can search directly using the search bar or browse by category, simplifying the shopping journey.
The platform also enhances brand visibility through dedicated brand pages accessible via product description pages, allowing shoppers to explore more options from their favorite brands. For electronics shoppers, the app includes a product comparison feature, enabling customers to evaluate different brands before making a purchase.
Another thoughtful feature is the “Buy Again” function, located next to the search bar. This tool allows customers to quickly reorder previously purchased items, making it especially useful for recurring monthly shopping lists.
A Seamless Cart and Checkout Experience
The MAF App is built to make the checkout process as smooth as possible. For instance, Express and Scheduled orders are automatically split at the cart level, ensuring that each order is processed efficiently.
A progress bar also helps customers track their eligibility for delivery offers, while the ability to switch delivery services directly from the cart provides greater flexibility.
Customers maintain full control over their orders as well. Any substitutions require customer approval, and if a substituted item does not meet expectations, it can easily be returned to the delivery rider.
The checkout experience also allows customers to leave delivery instructions and tip riders before confirming their orders, adding a personal touch to the service.
Flexible and Secure Payment Options
Payment convenience remains a top priority. The MAF App supports multiple payment options including cards, vouchers, MyCLUB points, and M-Pesa. Customers can also opt for M-Pesa on delivery for orders below KES 5,000, providing additional flexibility.
All transactions are secure and verified, ensuring that customers can shop with confidence.
A Warm Welcome for New Users
To encourage more customers to experience the convenience of online shopping, Carrefour is offering a special welcome incentive. New users can apply the code KARIBU200 on orders above KES 1,000, unlocking free delivery on their first three orders.
The Future of Retail Convenience
As more Kenyan consumers embrace digital commerce, innovations like the MAF App demonstrate how retailers are evolving to meet modern shopping expectations. By combining speed, flexibility, and a seamless user experience, Carrefour is positioning itself at the forefront of Kenya’s growing online retail ecosystem.
For shoppers looking to save time while enjoying the full convenience of modern retail, the message is clear: the supermarket is no longer just a place you visit—it is now just a tap away.
