TSC, ODPP Announce 387 New Job Vacancies, Deadline And How To Apply

Kenyan job seekers have been handed a fresh opportunity to secure employment in the public sector after the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) and the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) jointly announced 387 job vacancies across a wide range of professional and administrative fields.
The openings, which were advertised this March, target qualified professionals in areas such as legal practice, education management, auditing, finance, research, information technology, and office administration.
Both institutions have invited eligible candidates to submit their applications online before the respective deadlines, as part of efforts to strengthen service delivery and expand their workforce across the country.
ODPP Announces 217 Vacancies
The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) has advertised the largest share of the openings, seeking to recruit 217 employees in various departments.
The recruitment drive is aimed at bolstering the agency’s operational capacity as it continues to expand prosecution services and enhance support functions across Kenya.
Among the most notable vacancies are 140 Prosecution Counsel positions at grade DPP Seven, which make up the majority of the advertised slots.
These positions target qualified lawyers who will be responsible for handling criminal prosecutions, representing the state in court proceedings, and supporting the broader justice system through legal advisory and litigation work.
The ODPP said the additional prosecutors will help address increasing workloads in courts across the country while ensuring that cases are handled efficiently and professionally.
Beyond legal roles, the agency is also looking to recruit professionals in several support areas. These include accountants, supply chain management officers, research officers, audit officers, Information and Communication Technology (ICT) specialists, corporate communications officers, clerical officers, and office assistants.
The roles are spread across different operational units nationwide, reflecting the institution’s need to strengthen both technical and administrative capacities.
According to the recruitment notice, all interested applicants must submit their applications through the ODPP’s official online careers portal. The deadline for submission has been set for March 30 at 5:00 pm.
Candidates who make it to the shortlist will be required to present original documentation during the interview stage. These include national identification documents, academic certificates, professional qualifications, and official transcripts.
The verification process is part of standard public service recruitment procedures aimed at ensuring transparency and authenticity in the hiring process.
TSC Seeks 170 Education Management Staff
At the same time, the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has announced 170 vacancies aimed at strengthening the management and supervision of teachers across the country. The commission is seeking experienced professionals for several senior and mid-level roles within its organizational structure.
Among the positions advertised are Senior Deputy Directors in Human Resource Management and Development, who will oversee policy implementation and staff development within the commission.
TSC is also recruiting internal audit officers and deputy directors responsible for human resource development and risk management, positions that are expected to enhance oversight, governance, and operational efficiency within the commission.
In addition, the recruitment drive includes several principal officer roles that will focus on managing key areas such as teacher professional development, staffing, and disciplinary processes across the education sector.
However, the largest portion of the TSC vacancies is dedicated to field operations. The commission is seeking to recruit 132 Assistant Director Teacher Management field officers who will be stationed across various regions of the country.
These officers will play a critical role in supervising and monitoring teachers in schools, coordinating administrative functions, and ensuring that education policies and standards are effectively implemented at the grassroots level.
Their responsibilities will also include supporting schools in teacher management matters and facilitating communication between the commission and educational institutions.
Application Process and Deadlines
Qualified candidates interested in applying for the TSC positions have been directed to submit their applications through the commission’s online recruitment portal. The deadline for submission is March 23 at 11:59 pm.
The commission has strongly emphasized that its recruitment process is completely free of charge, cautioning job seekers against paying any fees to individuals or intermediaries claiming to facilitate employment.
In its official notice, TSC reiterated that it does not require applicants to pay any charges during the application, processing, or interview stages.
“TSC does not charge any application, processing, interviewing, or any other fee at any stage of the recruitment process,” the commission stated.
Both institutions have also issued strong warnings to applicants regarding the submission of false information or fraudulent documentation.
According to the notices, any candidate found to have provided misleading details, forged certificates, or incorrect information during the application process will be automatically disqualified. In some cases, such actions may also lead to prosecution under Kenyan law.
The TSC specifically cited the Public Officers Ethics Act, 2003, which governs conduct and integrity requirements in public service recruitment. The commission further clarified that no physical applications will be accepted, and all submissions must be made strictly through the designated online portals.
“It is an offence to include incorrect or misleading information in the applications as per the provisions of the Public Officers Ethics Act, 2003,” the commission noted.
The announcement of nearly 400 new public sector jobs comes at a time when many Kenyans are actively searching for employment opportunities.
Analysts say the recruitment drives by the two institutions could provide relief to skilled professionals seeking stable careers in government service while strengthening key sectors such as education management and the justice system.
With the application deadlines approaching, qualified applicants have been encouraged to carefully review the requirements for each position and ensure their submissions are completed before the closing dates.
