Valentine’s Day this year saw thousands of Nairobians on the move, with new data from Bolt revealing Nyayo Stadium and leading shopping malls as the most frequented destinations on the platform.

According to Bolt’s internal ride data, Nyayo Stadium recorded the highest number of trips on Valentine’s Day, with over 4,000 rides completed to and from the venue. The spike comes after the just-concluded electrifying HSBC SVNS tournament at the stadium over the weekend, which drew international teams and thousands of fans. Bolt in partnership with Capital FM was the mobility partner at this event.

The data highlights how sport, entertainment and social experiences continue to shape mobility patterns in the city.

Dimmy Kanyankole, Senior General Manager, Bolt, East Africa, said: “Nyayo Stadium stood out as the single busiest destination on our platform this Valentine’s. This reflects not only the impact of major international tournaments like the HSBC SVNS, but also the trust riders place in Bolt to get them to high-traffic events safely and reliably.”

Beyond the stadium, Nairobi’s premier shopping and lifestyle hubs dominated the list of top destinations. These included BBS Mall, Sarit Center, Garden City Mall, Thika Road Mall, Yaya Center, Eastleigh Mall and Greenspan Mall, which all recorded significant ride volumes.

Transport and business hubs also saw strong activity, including the Kenya National Archives, Afya Center, Imenti House, Odeon, and JKIA, highlighting a mix of leisure, travel, and last-minute Valentine’s shopping across the capital.

The strong performance across key locations reinforces Bolt’s position as Nairobi’s most reliable mobility platform, particularly during peak demand periods. From large-scale sporting events to mall visits and airport transfers, Bolt’s driver-partners maintained a steady supply, ensuring riders could move affordably and with confidence.

“As the city comes alive for major cultural and sporting moments, reliable mobility becomes critical. Our data shows that whether it was fans heading to Nyayo Stadium for world-class rugby or couples visiting Nairobi’s favourite malls, Bolt remained the platform of choice,” Dimmy added.

With international tournaments such as the HSBC SVNS placing Nairobi firmly on the global events map, Bolt continues to play a central role in powering safe, dependable movement for residents and visitors alike.
