NSE On Monday: Equity Group Emerges as Top Mover of the Day

Equity Group kicked off the week as the top mover of the day with a volume of 1.19 million shares followed by Safaricom and Co-operative Bank with 889,200 and 633,300 shares respectively.

Kenya Re-Insurance and Home Afrika sold 123,000 and 82,900 shares respectively during the session. Only Equity Group sold shares above 1.19 million on Monday.

The top loser of the day was the ailing Kenya Airways with 6.61 percent at the price of 3.39 shillings per share followed by Sameer Africa with 5.26 percent at the price of 2.70 shillings per share.

Eaagads, Umeme and Carbacid Investments lost 4.55, 3.61 and 2.68 percent at the price of 10.50, 8.00 and 8.70 shillings per share respectively.

East African Cables was the top gainer of the day with 8.61 percent at the price of 2.90 shillings per share followed by Stanlib Fahari Income – REIT who gained 7.14 percent at the price of 9.00 shillings per share.

Kenya Power and Lighting, Eveready East Africa and CIC Insurance Group gained 5.11, 4.30 and 3.40 percent at the price of 3.70, 0.97 and 3.65 shillings per share respectively.
