Co-op Bank VISA Cards: Secure, Convenient and Accessible

BY Soko Directory Team · October 9, 2019 10:10 am

I have severally felt annoyed at how I would go to a shoe store to buy a shoe with weird pricing like  2,499/= written boldly on the price tag, pay 2,500 shillings and stand to wait for my one-shilling balance and receipt, only to get the receipt without my coin. Do you know that feeling?

Then there is this other trend in supermarkets where after shopping, the cashier gives you sweets without blinking, oblivious of the fact that you had your dentist extract your fifth tooth yesterday and two more have cavities. But that is not the problem. The problem is that you just want your money, but you accept the sweets grudgingly. Inside, you curse and say that since they behave like that, you should also be allowed to use sweets to pay up for bought items.

I’m not being stingy. Hapana. I’m just trying to think about how every coin counts and does not deserve to be replaced by sweets because sweets (read temptations) cannot buy bags of cement if they are saved for one year.

Because supermarkets and shoe stores refused to accept my sweets as payment for my items (Can you imagine that?), I made sure no one ever gets my extra coin because I’m being careful in this economy.

When I finally learned about Co-operative bank’s Visa card and the fact that I can pay up for anything using it, I was happy, not only because of the obvious reason- keeping my coins and them keeping their sweets- but also because I learnt about many other conveniences that come with using the Co-op visa card.

Here’s why you should use the card, whether Cooperative Bank of Kenya VISA Debit, Credit or SACCO Link;

  • You keep your coins, they keep their sweets (of course), so you save.
  • You are able to monitor your budget through a bank statement, so you get to control how you use your money.
  • You save time. No more long queues at the banks and ATMs before you get back to the shop.
  • Absolutely no transaction fee involved. So quit going to the ATMs to withdraw before you buy. You will be charged.
  • No more worries and hiding money in your socks and hair. The visa card is small and easy to carry and is secure with its new CHIP and PIN.
  • With a Co-op VISA card, there is no time limit. It is functional 24/7.

I’m sure I saved your teeth and money, right?
