Selina is a classic Cinderella-like tale that combines the romance of the fairy tale with the relevant social issue of educating the girl child.
It depicts the life of Selina, a 19-year-old girl, who goes to work in a wealthy city home after being brainwashed by her step-mother, Kristina, who has convinced her to leave her family and education behind and instead work as a housemaid in order to support her family, her sickly father and her younger step-brother and sister.
As fate would have it, Selina falls for the youngest son of the house where she is deployed to work. Selina, in pursuit of evidence to prove her innocence, has no option but to go the extra mile. It is a bumpy ride as she finds herself in between love and her quest. Selina airs Monday to Friday at 8.30 pm EAT.
Nyanya Rukia is a series that revolves around a loud, busy body and cantankerous grandmother who is always meddling in people’s affairs. Nyanya Rukia premiers every Monday at 7.30 pm EAT on Maisha Magic East.
Our Perfect Wedding gives viewers a front-row seat to the intimate lives of real couples as they plan their perfect weddings. The show airs on Thursdays at 7.30 pm EAT. The Turn Up brings the best mix of music from across East Africa to viewers of Maisha Magic East in a show hosted by Amina Abdi Rabar and DJ Joe Mfalme and airs every Saturday from 2.00 pm – 4.00 pm.
