Kenya’s sustainable energy goals on track

Improving the sustainability concept in Kenya is considered a step in spreading science and knowledge through Kenya Association of Manufacturers. Sustainability concepts play an important role in improving the quality to conserve the environment in the country by saving energy, using renewable energy and using efficient sustainable building materials and other aspects that achieve environmental efficiency.

In addition, the target is to exchange knowledge and experience between manufacturers in order to evolve the built environment and also innovate new approaches that contribute to improving sustainability in developing communities. Kenya Association of Manufacturers will be hosting an event themed “celebrating industry’s excellence in sustainable energy development”

The day will have two main events; the inaugural CEO’s Forum on Sustainable Energy, followed by the 11th edition Energy Management Awards. The action agenda outlines the various actions that Kenya will put in place to achieve the set goals in renewable energy resources, efficiency and creating a conducive environment for investment, while priority projects by stakeholders are proposed.

The energy sustainability programme has achieved in increasing profits, competitiveness and job opportunities. The certified energy managers are internationally recognized as key industry professionals in EE and licensed as well by the ERC. Private sector inputs have also been incorporated in the climate change policy and bill, green economy strategy and implementation plan.
