Nairobi City Young Entrepreneurs to officially launch organization

Nairobi City Young Entrepreneurs Under 30 are officially launching their organization 4 months after the inaugural meet and greet which they had late last year. The event that brings together a considerable number of business savvy entrepreneurs will be held at the Fairview Hotel on Friday the 27th of May from 5.00pm.
The launch event doubles up as a chance for the youth to network and gain useful business associations that they can utilize in their individual areas of business and expertise. According to Nairobi City Young Entrepreneurs (NCYE) co-founder Mady Fernandez says, “we are constantly being told that we are the future leaders of tomorrow, and we believe that tomorrow has finally arrived. If we do not do something for ourselves now, then how can we expect to safeguard and secure our futures.” Fernandez continued on to say “NCYE is about making a difference thus our slogan ‘Be a change. Make a change.’ We must first be the change we want to see before we can make that change a reality.”
Entrepreneurs under 30 who feel the need to take their businesses and networks to the next level are urged to use this quick tool as an opportunity to propel them to success, help them maneuver in their respective industries, and join like minded entrepreneurs, social media gurus, networking enthusiasts to quickly break the businesses ice.
The purpose of the organization goes beyond networking as it is also a chance to empower the youth. Co- founder Mina Reeve emphasized “this is the chance for the youth to grow and shine. While most people usually take an average of 5 years to build up a database of good, strong connections, NCYE shorten that time-to-value ratio to an average of 5 months.” Reeve further expressed that “we need to make our legacy in society so as to become prominent and successful.
By being a part of NCYE, an entrepreneur can be guided on how to lay down the foundations, and get support in all departments be it in finance, marketing, law, or design.” The event is targeted at individuals who have an entrepreneurial spirit, therefore acting as a platform whereby people from all industries can come together, interact and help build each other economically and socially, as well as to showcase our various skills which consequently builds professional networks.
“A lot of effort has been put into NCYE to make it as effective and intuitive as possible,” Dennis Asiema, co-founder of NCYE said, “while we understand that we still have a lot of work to do in terms of making the organization sustainable and impactful, we have made significant progress since we tried out the platform late last year. So far, the results have been very promising, and as of now, we are already growing quite rapidly.”
The organization has grown from the initial 30 members to over 100 members, which is a clear indication that the youth are interested in learning new and better ways of running their businesses.
Guest speakers for this highly sought after event include Palmer Thambu of Millionaires Express Limited, Kevin Widdop of Kevin Widdop Consultancy, Harriet Thiong’o of the Harriet Group, Monica Mzungu of Scenery Adventures Limited, and Pete Ondeng of East Africa Centre for Leadership Development. Another key highlight for the evening is a special performance from Gospel music singer Sarah Fana who is an Eritrean/Kenyan Afro songwriter who will be performing her hit song El-Shaddai among others.
